Event Details

RACE FORMAT

Wheel to wheel racing with staggered offset start. Each team will run a qualifying lap to determine start order – start order will be fastest qualifying time first and descending from there.

Winner is fastest to complete “x” number of laps.

Stock and Modified will race to 20 laps with a 1 hour curfew. If competitors have not finished their 20 laps within the curfew, their last completed lap will be their final lap count to determine finishing position.

Unlimited will race to 40 laps with a 2 hour curfew. If competitors have not finished their 40 laps within the curfew, their last completed lap will be their final lap count to determine finishing position.

*There is no corrected time – timer starts when the first vehicle is live. Qualify well to get the best start position.

*If you fail to attempt a qualifying lap, you will be assessed a 1 lap penalty for Stock and Modified and a 2 lap penalty for Unlimited.

RACE COURSE/MAP

Please see map at top of page.

START ORDER

The start order will be determined based on your qualifying time. Final start orders will be posted by the track entrance.

TECH INSPECTION

Please find Bill McGibbon on the evening of Friday August 14th in the Greasy Clown Motorsports pit or Saturday morning before your race. You must pass tech in order to race.

*If you received a Conditional Pass (yellow tag) at the last race – you will need to fix the outstanding tech issue and receive a green tag in order to participate in this race.

If your conditional pass was due to a missing number plate/shark fin, you WILL be able to race without it but be aware, it is in your best interest in having a shark fin as this is the easiest number plate for lap counters to identify your vehicle – lack of number plate may result in miscount of laps.

RACE COST/WAIVERS

$200 per vehicle class entry

Race participants (drivers/co-drivers), must be at least 16 years old. Participants under the age of 18 must fill out (along with their parent/guardian) the part of the waiver (previously emailed) highlighted in green. Participants over 18 must fill out the part of waiver (previously emailed) highlighted in yellow. Failure by all participants to fill out the waiver will result in the participant NOT racing.

Please hand in exact race fees (change will NOT be available) in a sealed envelope with your names/race team/vehicle number on the envelope. Along side the envelope, please hand in loose waivers and self tech form so we can confirm all participants. Entry fee and waiver forms will be collected at check point one prior to qualifying. Once Waivers are confirmed, you will proceed to check point two to do your qualifying lap.

If you do NOT hand in waivers or money prior to qualifying, you will be asked to leave the line up and come back with waivers and payment.

PITS

Only tools/fuel/tires/etc. are allowed to be left at your pit.

You MUST have your pit set up by 9:00am race day.

No pit crew members allowed. Only driver/co-driver/other participants are allowed to work on your race vehicle during the race. A participant is classified as anyone leaving the start line in a vehicle for that particular race or recovery crew.

If you are caught using outside help you will be assessed a 2 lap penalty.

Maximum speed while in pit area is 5KM/H

All pits will be set up on the left (west) side of pit lane. The north(upper) and south(lower) pits are separated by a drainage culvert which can be identified by the unkept grass surrounding it. Only use groomed sections to set up and pit. DO NOT drive over any tall/ungroomed grass in the pits. Doing so will result in a disqualification as these sections are drainage culverts for the MX park and we don’t want to damage anything.

There will be a flagman at the end of pit lane to safely guide you back on course. You must wait for him to give you the green flag before proceeding on course. Failure to follow flagman’s signal will result in 1 lap penalty.

FAQ

Is there camping?

Camping is available for the whole weekend. Please book directly through Free Flow MX Park.  If you are arriving Friday, please arrive before 6:00pm. If you can not arrive before 6:00pm, please contact Eugene to make arrangements for later arrivals. Eugene will be at the park after 7:00pm to let people in. In case of potential inclement weather, please be prepared to vacate premises Saturday evening. They’ve had issues with flooding in the past where parked vehicles sank to their axles and had to tow them out with a back hoe which wrecked their roads, field and track. I know it may be an inconvenience, but this is their home that they have invited us into, so we’re asking people to respect their wishes.

Can we have a pit crew?

While the race is in progress, only drivers and co-drivers of that race can work on your vehicle. This means drivers/co-drivers of other vehicles in the same race can help, but no outside help.

What do we do if we break down on course? Will there be recovery?

Do your best to get the vehicle safely off course. If you come across a disabled vehicle, and you can not safely pass, in the spirit of sportsmanship, it is encouraged that you help your fellow drivers move their vehicle off course safely. There will be recovery crew stationed around the course. If they assist you, it is ok to keep racing provided it is safe to do so. If you cannot continue, full recovery and vehicle removal will be done once racing is completed and course is no longer live. If you are caught using outside help (someone other than official recovery crew or fellow competitors), you will be assessed a 2 lap penalty.

What happens if I roll over on course?

Safely exit your vehicle. Recovery crew will help right your vehicle when they feel it is safe to do so. You may continue to race after they assist provided it’s safe to do so. If you are caught using outside help (someone other than official recovery crew or fellow competitors), you will be assessed a 2 lap penalty.

Why aren’t awards being handed out at the event?

Due to social distancing restrictions as a result of COVID, there will be no onsite awards ceremony. Prizes will be given out at the next race. If you prefer to collect sooner, contact TMR Customs to make arrangements.

Why do we have to do a self tech if we’ve done a tech inspection?

The self tech is requirement of Free Flow MX Park. As their guests we are complying with their rules. You will still need to pass TMR Customs Race Series tech to participate in the season and this race. If you pass the TMR Race Series tech, self tech should not be an issue – think of it as a final checklist.

What can we expect of the course?

The course is just under 2km long. There is a groomed section with a tabletop and some small whoops that will be used for qualifying. The full course uses parts of the groomed course and mostly natural terrain. The course goes through some field, brush and wooded areas all of which are natural. You may encounter some field stone and natural berms. The course is a faster more open track and not too technical but you still have to watch out. At our test & tune, most vehicles were doing about 2:00 – 2:10 minute laps with no one else on course. You can find a “drive through” video on our Instagram and Facebook page.
